F. Robert Wiesenberger Community Volunteer Award

Nominations are now being accepted for The F. Robert Wiesenberger Community Volunteer Award, recognizing a Greater Clevelander whose actions embody Robert (Bob) Wiesenberger’s spirit of volunteerism. Wiesenberger was the first and a long-time chairman of RTA’s Citizens Advisory Board and continued to serve on its board for more than 25 years.

“We are seeking nominees who embody Wiesenberger’s life message: ‘a spirit of volunteerism, a willingness to get involved; an unselfish giving of oneself, an ability to lead others and a desire to enhance the quality of life in our community,’” said Donaldson Hill, RTA’s CAB Chairman.

Award Eligibility

The nominee must be a resident and perform volunteer work in the Cuyahoga County region. Nominations are being accepted from individuals as well as organizations.

Application Deadline

The deadline for submissions is March 1, 2018. The winner will be honored at RTA’s annual Awards Banquet in the spring.

Criteria

  • Contribution – the scope of the individuals volunteer work and how efforts have improved the quality of life for Greater Clevelanders
  • Leadership – the ability to motivate and direct the efforts others, articulate a service-related vision for the community, or formulate and implements ideas and activities that have a significant benefit to the community
  • Influence – the degree to which the individual’s efforts have influenced the community and fellow volunteers
  • Length of service – the length of time the individual has been involved in volunteerism in Cuyahoga County
