Public views prototype of Corridor vehicle
On Feb. 10, RTA unveiled the prototype Rapid Transit Vehicle (RTV) for the Silver Line along the Euclid Corridor. The 60-foot vehicle is the only one of its kind in the nation.

January ridership up over last year
Ridership was up 4.6 percent in January -- an increase of 207,000 rides. It marks the highest January ridership in five years. Ridership on buses grew 4.9 percent.

Chicago Transit Authority raises fares
Transit fares for the Chicago Transit Authority rose Jan. 1. Cash fares increased 25 cents, to $2.00. Cash transfers were eliminated. The fare increase will help CTA balance the 2006 budget. For more information Fare structure chart
