RTA completes two projects on Shaker Square
RTA has done much in recent months to enhance its presence on historic Shaker Square. RTA has just completed work on making the light-rail station ADA-compliant, and in sprucing up the rail median strip, from Shaker Square to Coventry Road.

SMILE! Video cameras are coming soon to rail
RTA has received an $893,000 Homeland Security grant to add a state-of-the-art video camera system to 60 heavy-rail vehicles on the Red Line. Plans are also underway to add similar cameras to the Blue and Green lines.

National transit ridership continues to grow
More than 5 billion people took rides on public transit in this nation during the first six months of 2006, a 3.2 percent increase over the previous year. Locally, transit ridership was up 1.3 percent for the same period.
