July 4, 2015: Watch fireworks, have fun, at RTA's Family Fest

CLEVELAND -- Euclid Beach Park closed in 1969, but its spirit will come alive on the Fourth of July.

The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) will host its 10th annual Family Fest as part of Cleveland’s fireworks celebration on Saturday, July 4, 2015. The festival kicks off at 7 p.m. at the Settlers Landing Station on the Waterfront Line, and runs until the firework spectacular ends. Fireworks begin at dusk.

There will be fun for the whole family, as items from the former Euclid Beach amusement park, including the “thriller car”, come to life for the evening. Get ready for good music, refreshments sold on site and of course, fireworks.

So bring a blanket and grab a spot on the hillside for a great view of the show. The fireworks display, at the mouth of the Cuyahoga River, is expected to start around 10 p.m.

RTA makes travel to and from the Flats fast and convenient. Plan to come early, as a large crowd is expected. Park for free at a Rapid Station, ride the Rapid to Tower City, and take Waterfront Line to the Settlers Landing Station. Waterfront Line trains will run every 15 minutes, and will help everyone reach Tower City after the fireworks end.

Customers are encouraged to buy an All-Day Pass -- $5 for adults and $2.50 for each child, age 6-12. Up to three children, younger than age 6, can ride free. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
