June 23: Free bike day on RTA for RideUNITED

Jun 17, 2013

CLEVELAND – The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) supports the United Way’s RideUNITED on Sunday, June 23, by offering free rides on RTA buses and trains for bicyclists using the system. This is the second free bike day of 2013.

RideUNITED is a regional, one-day bike tour benefiting the United Way. The event begins at Cleveland State University and offers riders a variety of bike routes, going as far as the University of Akron and back. Bicyclists ride for FREE with RTA on the day of the event. For more information about RideUNITED, visit www.rideunited.org.

RTA hopes the free rides will help those participating in the fundraising event, and offer an opportunity for others out for a casual ride to try riding RTA with their bikes.

Whether you are considering bus or rail, please review bike riding rules. Take bus or train to RideUNITED on June 23, 2013 for free with RTA. Conserve your energy and reduce emissions — you could even make a donation to this great cause with your saved bus fare.

RTA provides quality, economic and safe public transportation via rail, bus and Paratransit throughout Cuyahoga County. Real-time information is available for all buses and trains. Check www.riderta.com or call the RTAnswerline at 216-621-9500.
