CLEVELAND -- The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) will fingerprint and create IDs for children this weekend at the 7th Annual Stockyard Bike-A-Thon.
Transit Police will be on hand on Saturday, May 18, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Clark School, 5550 Clark Ave., with several other organizations promoting safe kids. RTA's participation is part of a program called Operation KidWatch.
In addition to learning bike safety rules and getting your bike tuned up, this free opportunity offers parents some vital identifying information for their children, in case they go missing. The card can be given to police to help in the search for that child.
A parent or guardian must be present with the child to create the card, which includes a photo ID and a fingerprint.
When riding RTA, use bus 45, and exit at Clark & West 65th Street.
