CLEVELAND – South Euclid Mayor Georgine Welo was elected by the Cuyahoga County Mayors and City Managers Association today to another three-year term on the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) Board of Trustees.
Mayor Welo has served on the RTA Board since March 2014. Her new, three-year term on the RTA Board begins in March 2017.
Mayor Welo became the first woman elected Mayor of the City of South Euclid in November 2003.
Other Mayors elected by the Mayors and City Managers Association on the 10-member RTA Board are Dennis M. Clough of Westlake, and Mayor Trevor Elkins of Newburgh Heights, whose three-year term on the RTA Board began in March 2016. Clough has served as Board Vice President since 2011 and joined the RTA Board in 1999.
