RTA COVID-19 Update - May 22, 2020

The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) is reporting that two additional staff members have tested positive for COVID-19. One individual is a laborer based at the Woodhill facility whose last day of work was Thursday, May 14. The second individual is a Paratransit driver whose last day of work was Wednesday, May 20.

COVID-19 RTA Update – Friday, May 22, 2020
RTA Staff Members Test Positive

CLEVELAND, OH – The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) is reporting that two additional staff members have tested positive for COVID-19.

One individual is a laborer based at the Woodhill facility (2440 Woodhill Road, Cleveland). The employee’s last day of work was Thursday, May 14. The employee tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, May 20.

Following RTA protocol, the Woodhill facility was thoroughly cleaned. It was disinfected with the Moonbeam3 on Tuesday, May 19.  The Moonbeam3 uses ultraviolet technology for germicidal irradiation disinfection.

The second individual is a Paratransit driver whose last day of work was Wednesday, May 20. The driver was not symptomatic on that day. Following RTA protocol, the Paratransit vehicle was cleaned and disinfected prior to going into service the next day.

Since the COVID-19 outbreak began, 13 RTA staff members have tested positive for the Coronavirus. Seven employees have fully recovered and have returned to RTA to assume their normal work duties.
