Effective: Jun 7, 2014 to Jun 21, 2014

From Saturday, June 7, through Saturday, June 21, buses will replace Red Line rail service between Tower City and the Louis Stokes Station at Windermere. Look for bus stop signs that say 66R, and for buses that say "Red Line."

Rush-hour Red Line rail service between Hopkins Airport and Tower City will operate every 10 minutes, instead of every 7 minutes. If you are making connections to a bus, allow extra time.

A temporary Red Line timetable has been printed on yellow paper. It is dated for June 7.

Why the change?

On-going construction at the Cedar-University and Little Italy-University Circle stations, and other track upgrades.

New bus route: 66R

Because Blue and Green line trains also serve several Red Line stations, Red Line buses will follow a shorter, faster path, thus greatly reducing commute time.

Red Line buses will serve these stations:

  • East 105-Quincy
  • Cedar-University
  • East 120
  • Superior
  • Louis Stokes Station at Windermere

To reach Red Line stations at East 34th Street, East 55th Street and East 79th Street, ride a Blue/Green Line train.

  • The Red Line bus will stop at East 55th Street and Woodland, about one-half mile from the East 55th Street station.
  • The Red Line bus will stop at East 79th Street and Woodhill Avenue, about two-tenths of a mile from the Red Line station.

RTA apologizes for the inconvenience, as work continues on these major station enhancements.
