Three Week West Side Shutdown

-

Red Line rail service between Puritas and W. 117 stations will be replaced with 66R buses for three weeks from Sunday, July 22 through Saturday, August 11, 2018 due to extensive track work in this area.

Track work is being done on the section just west of W. 117 station through to Lorain Ave. (just west of West Park station). Once completed, this section will feature 7,300 new crossties, new rails and a complete track replacement at Triskett and West Park stations.

66R buses will pick up at all Red Line stations between Puritas and W. 117 at the special orange 66R bus stop signs.

Although 66R buses will operate on a schedule that coordinates with the rail schedule, please allow an additional 30 minutes to complete your rail commute during this time.

During morning rush hour, weekday mid-day, and evening rush hour, there will be 2 buses available per train.

During evenings and weekends, there will be 1 bus available per train.

There is approximately 7-8 minutes of cushion time between the arrival of a bus and the departure of a train during off-peak hours, allowing plenty of time to walk between the two modes.

As always, 66R buses are fare-free.

A new Red Line timetable will be available with an effective date of July 22, 2018,
