GCRTA is Hosting a Career Fair for New or Experienced Bus Operators

The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) is hosting a career fair for prospective bus operators on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) Main Campus (Alex B. Johnson Building) at 2900 Community College Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44115.

This is a great opportunity to receive firsthand knowledge of bus operator career opportunities available at GCRTA. 

GCRTA offers: 
•    Starting wage of $27.55 an hour after successful completion of training plus, wage rate increases up to $35+ dollars/per hour the fourth year of full-time equivalent service.

On-site interviews will be offered at the career fair for interested applicants. GCRTA Human Resources representatives will be on-hand to answer questions and guide individuals throughout the event.  

Interested applicants seeking employment as a GCRTA bus operator must possess the following requirements. 

•    A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
•    Be at least 19 years of age, have a minimum of three (3) years of driving experience, and at least two (2) years of customer service experience 
•    Strong interpersonal skills for providing exceptional customer service. Applicants must be able to understand and adhere to all safety rules and regulations 
•    A good driving record with no more than two (2) points, in the past three years
