Bus Operators

Full (40 hours) and part-time (30 hours) Bus Operators.

Current hourly pay rates:

  • $16 during training
  • $18+ after completing training
  • Annual "step" increases per union contract
  • $30+ after 5 full-time years

No need for a CDL as we train.

If you have the following qualifications, then we want to hear from you!

  • GED or High School Diploma
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record (not more than 2 points in the last 3 years)
  • At Least 3 years of driving a vehicle (personal auto included)
  • At least 2 years of strong customer service experience

Executive Opportunities

Chief of Police / Director of Securitymanages the third largest police department in Cuyahoga County; $14 million budget and 128 full and part time officers; operates at both a strategic level coordinating with external law enforcement entities at the federal, state, and local levels, and at a tactical level, managing the department’s day-to-day-policing operations that includes bus, train, and canine patrols, detective investigations, traffic enforcement and fare enforcement functions

Deputy General Manager, Administration & External​ Affairs: directs and manages GCRTA’s external communications and community engagement in addition to assisting Executive Management implement operational and planning initiatives across the agency; has oversight of GCRTA’s Marketing, Communications, Government Relations/External Affairs, Office of Equal Opportunity, and Diversity & Inclusion functions; will be instrumental in envisioning and directing these strategic initiatives in pursuit of the agency’s objectives

Deputy General Manager, Innovation & Technology: provides a proactive, dynamic, responsive, collaborative and forward-thinking vision, leadership and management of technology systems and services to support the organization's mission and goals; responsible for providing leadership in developing, implementing and promoting GCRTA’s vision for innovation and technology, with a focus on innovative strategies for user experience, rider/community experience, systems performance and agility, security, business intelligence, content management, transit infrastructure funding, personalized learning and work environments, and advancing diverse mobility solutions; serves as the liaison for the Information Technology Ad Hoc Committee Chair; leadership and oversight for supervising staff, developing and managing technology budgets (capital and operating), establishing innovation and technology policies, and proposing innovation and technology solutions that support the curricular, administrative, and infrastructure needs of GCRTA.
