Project History
- This is the last key station to become ADA compliant
- Design was created by GCRTA staff
Scope of Work
ADA compliant station- Access to the station will be through a series of ramps and stair structures down the existing hillside, similar to E. 116 - St. Luke's, Buckeye - Woodhill and Tri-C - Campus District stations
- Pedestrian track crossing protected by railroad gate, flashing lights and audible bells
- New entry plaza will serve as an entrance to the station and a bus waiting environment
- Separate entrance for Orlando Baking employees
- Replacement of existing platforms with new Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) which are long enough to accommodate 3-car Red Line trains
- Upgraded lighting
- Cameras and emergency call boxes that communicate directly with GCRTA Transit Police
- Constructed to meet the requirements of the SITES Sustainability Program
- Replacement of existing track through the station
- Station amenities including bike racks, trash and recycling receptacles and upgraded station signage and wayfinding
