Project History

  • This is the last key station to become ADA compliant
  • Design was created by GCRTA staff

Scope of Work

  • An aerial rendering of the new E 79 Red Line Station (click for a larger image)ADA compliant station
  • Access to the station will be through a series of ramps and stair structures down the existing hillside, similar to E. 116 - St. Luke's, Buckeye - Woodhill and Tri-C - Campus District stations
  • Pedestrian track crossing protected by railroad gate, flashing lights and audible bells
  • New entry plaza will serve as an entrance to the station and a bus waiting environment
  • Separate entrance for Orlando Baking employees
  • Replacement of existing platforms with new Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) which are long enough to accommodate 3-car Red Line trains

  • Cameras and emergency call boxes that communicate directly with GCRTA Transit Police
  • Constructed to meet the requirements of the SITES Sustainability Program
  • Replacement of existing track through the station
  • Station amenities including bike racks, trash and recycling receptacles and upgraded station signage and wayfinding
