Do you have a smartphone, or is your current mobile device web-enabled? If so, check out these new options for accessing the information RTA riders need the most:
Signup for our latest Commuter Alerts real-time messaging system, and quick access to apps especially designed for the latest smartphones.
RTA Rail Service Commuter Alerts: Through Commuter Alerts, you can receive RTA Rail (Red Line, Blue Line, Green Line, and Waterfront Line) service-related information via email and/or text messages. Information will include:
- service interruptions
- bus replacement information (if necessary)
- delays: of 10-15 minutes, 15-20 minutes and more than 20 minutes with a brief explanation of what is happening
- other unusual occurrences
Notices can be sent to email addresses, cellular phones, and advanced smartphones. Messages are limited to 150 characters to reduce truncation by cellular phones. If you wish to receive Commuter Alerts, visit www.riderta.com/commuteralerts.
NextConnect Real-Time Location: NextConnect represents the next generation in RTA service communication. Through the use of GPS satellite technology, you can check the location of any vehicle on any route, and obtain predictions of when that vehicle is expected to arrive at a given stop. Subscribed alerts allow a customer to be notified via email when a vehicle is approaching a selected stop, minimizing unnecessary waiting time. To explore NextConnect, visit nextconnect.riderta.com.
Smartphone Applications:
AnyStop and HopStop are available to all Android OS devices, providing you with easily accessible schedule information.
Users of all smartphone platforms can currently take advantage of Google Maps, now with integrated transit directions and bus and rail stop locations.
Applications are available for download through your provider's app market. Standard usage charges apply. Please contact app developers directly for support; RTA does not provide any support for installing, configuring, or using mobile apps.
