Apr 23, 2014

CLEVELAND -- The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) is supporting Cleveland's public television station, WVIZ TV-25 and its efforts to raise $500,000 this month in an annual auction, by donating two years worth of RTA passes.

From Thursday-Sunday, April 24-27, you can bid on six RTA packages: Four contain three months worth of passes (an up to $285 value) and two contain one year of passes (up to a $1,140 value). You can get a great product to use on your commute at the same time you are supporting public television!

Just tune in to TV-25, and watch for the RTA items. Call in your bid on the phone, or register to place an on-line bid. You will be able to see the current bid before placing your bid. For more information, visit www.ideastream.org.

The WVIZ Auction is an annual live television event engaging viewers of all ages in support of public broadcast. Ideastream, parent company of WVIZ and 90.3 FM, says thousands of viewers tune in to the 'Auction Action' and then call with their bids while many others bid online.

The valuable RTA passes are among nearly 4,000 items gathered by volunteers in support of public television.

RTA provides quality, economic and safe public transportation via rail, bus and Paratransit throughout Cuyahoga County. Real-time information is available for all buses and trains. Check www.riderta.com or call the RTAnswerline at 216-621-9500.
