GCRTA Received Distinguished National Budget Presentation Award

Jun 11, 2025

The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has awarded their Distinguished Budget Presentation Award to the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) for their January 1, 2025, budget and budget document.

“This award is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting, and I’m truly pleased with our team’s success,” said Rajan Gautam, GCRTA Deputy General Manager Finance, Secretary-Treasurer.

The award represents a significant achievement by GCRTA. It reflects the agency’s commitment of the governing body and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting.  In order to receive the budget award, GCRTA was required to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines and criteria as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide, and communications device for effective budget presentation.

“This budget document highlights the talent and commitment of GCRTA towards providing transparency to build stronger relationships with customers and the community,” said Kay Sutula, GCRTA Director, Office of Management and Budget (OMB). “This is the 37th consecutive year we have received this award, and I’d like to thank the entire finance team for their excellent work on creating a well-rounded document.”

There are over 1,700 participants in the Budget Awards Program. The most recent Budget Award recipients, along with their corresponding budget documents, are posted quarterly on GFOA's website at www.gfoa.org/budget-award
