RTA marks 25th anniversary with lunches, prizes and music

CLEVELAND -- The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) is celebrating its 25th anniversary with the help of several local media outlets.

A series of five "Listener Lunches" begin on Thursday, June 22, 2000, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., at the Star Plaza at Playhouse Square, near Euclid Ave., East 18th Street and Huron Avenue.

The Free Times, Kiss 104.9 and Mix 106.5 are co-sponsoring the event with Smith Ruggles, Smith Super Jug and CareerBoard.com.

The event includes a free lunch, with music and prizes. Persons can also register to win free concert tickets and free RTA transportation. A coupon in The Free Times will allow persons to ride the RTA Loop bus free to the event.

Other lunches are planned for July 20 and Aug. 24 on Public Square, and Sept. 7 and Oct. 5 at the Star Plaza on Playhouse Square. More RTA 25th anniversary events will be announced later. Visit RTA's Web site.
