The following statement should be attributed to the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) CEO and General Manager India Birdsong.

“Greater Cleveland RTA thanks Governor Mike DeWine for signing into law the state Transportation Budget, House Bill 74.The bill contains significant funding for public transit and acknowledges the unique role that our rail system plays in the region.

“With the passage of this bill, Ohio is investing in its future. With his support for public transit, the Governor is demonstrating a commitment to mobility, equity, and access for all.  This bill will allow us to better connect the communities we love and serve and give Northeast Ohioans better access to jobs, critical health care appointments (such as those to mass vaccination sites), while furthering economic opportunities.

“RTA is proud of our state’s bipartisan commitment to public transit, and we look forward to this bill’s full implementation.”
