The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) would like to thank TRAC for its continued leadership in advancing critical transportation investments across the State of Ohio.
“We appreciate the inclusion of $10 million in Tier I funding for light rail track reconstruction in Cuyahoga County as part of the draft 2026–2029 Major New Construction Program List,” said GCRTA General Manager and Chief Executive Officer India L. Birdsong Terry. “This investment represents TRAC funding in support of Ohio’s transportation system, a critical fixed-guideway asset that supports safe, reliable, and efficient transit service across the region. This track reconstruction project is essential to maintaining system performance, ensuring rider safety, and preserving the long-term integrity of this infrastructure.”
Strategic reinvestment in existing assets reduces long-term costs, supports system reliability, and maximizes the value of public dollars. Investments like this contribute to reducing roadway congestion and generate economic benefit at both the local and state level, supporting Ohio-based jobs and businesses. This investment reflects the importance of sustaining and modernizing infrastructure that is essential to the continued performance and reliability of Ohio’s transportation system.
