Riders give high marks to RTA’s HealthLine

 

CLEVELAND – After six months of operation, the HealthLine has an approval rating of more than 90 percent by riders of the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA).

 

The HealthLine, a premium bus-rapid transit (BRT) service, began operating in October 2008. RTA’s Marketing team recently survey 600 persons riding the HealthLine, at different periods in the day.

 

The results are impressive.

• 92 percent say the service is reliable.
• 94 percent say the trips are on-time.
• 95 percent say the travel time is reasonable.
• 42 percent say they ride the HealthLine more often than they rode the former #6 bus route.
• 92 percent say the vehicles are clean.
• 92 percent say the stations are clean.

 

If HealthLine wasn’t available, how would riders reach to their destinations?

• 48 percent say they would use other RTA bus service.
• 16 percent say they would drive alone.
• 13 percent say they would ride RTA’s Red Line Rapid Transit service.

 

The overall satisfaction rating was 87 percent.

 

“We knew the HealthLine would be a major transit success story, and our ridership has been high since Day 1,” says CEO and General Manager Joe Calabrese. “But to have satisfaction numbers this high, so early in the operation, is really special. We thank our riders for their strong support, and promise to continue working to make the service even better.”
