RTA officials break ground Sept. 10 on transit center

named for Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones

CLEVELAND � At 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10 � the 60^th birthday of late Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones � officials will break ground on a new transit center named in her honor.

The Congresswoman, who passed away Aug. 20, 2008, was a strong supporter of transit in general and this facility in particular, says Joe Calabrese, RTA CEO and General Manager. She was instrumental in securing funding for the building. Tubbs Jones represented Ohio�s 11^th District from Jan. 3, 1999, until the time of her death.

The transit center is on the south side of Prospect Avenue, east of the Wolstein Center and adjacent to the new parking garage at Cleveland State University, between East 21^st and East 22^nd streets. Look for tents.

If you drive, park in the new CSU garage. Enter off East 21^st Street, south of Prospect Avenue.
If you use public transit, take either the HealthLine or the E-Line trolley to CSU, and then walk a block.

The $6.4 million transit center is RTA�s first downtown bus hub. It is being built in concert with CSU.
