CLEVELAND – The Board of Trustees of the Greater
Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) meets at 9 am. Tuesday, Sept. 15, at
RTA's Main Office, 1240
W. Sixth St.
Finance Committee
Michael
J. Schipper, Deputy General Manager, Engineering and Project Management,
will update Board members on RTA’s progress in spending federal stimulus
funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 for
major capital improvements.
Planning and Development Committee
Planner
Beth Long will present a plan to upgrade the plaza area in front of the
West 65th Street Rapid Station at EcoVillage. The Board will
vote on this plan during the regular meeting.
Committee of the Whole
Joel
Freilich, Assistant Director, Service Management, will present the Sept.
20 service changes.
In the regular meeting that
follows, the Board will consider resolutions to:
Rehab the Paratransit facility, 4601 Euclid
Ave., for $1.68 million.
Landscape and upgrade the plaza area in front of
the West 65th Street Rapid Station on Lorain Avenue for
$77,000.
Spend $4,900 to buy four parcels of landneeded
for improvements to the Buckeye-Woodhill Rapid Transit Station.
Use $350,000 of federal stimulus money to make
safety upgrades to the Waterfront Line. Work will be scheduled so as not
to interfere with the Browns’ games.
Demolish
the vacant building at 1965 East 65th Street and Euclid Avenue.
