U-Pass, which is short for “Universal Pass,” offers students a discounted transportation pass. It enables students to ride RTA anywhere, any time of the day. What does U-Pass cost? U-Pass costs $25 a semester. All students are automatically charged for a U-Pass on their bursar account, whether they pick it up or not. How does RTA service the campus? There are 30 bus routes originating from all parts of Cuyahoga County that provide service in and around area campuses. Students can also ride the Red, Blue or Green rapid transit lines and transfer on a bus to the campus. Who is eligible to participate in U-Pass? Students can visit their school’s U-Pass web page for more information on U-Pass eligibility.
Yes. The U-Pass allows students to make unlimited trips and transfers on RTA. It can be used 24/7 for everything from shopping in Coventry to barking at the Dawg Pound in Browns Stadium. Is the U-Pass good year-round? U-Pass is re-issued each semester: fall and spring. Although not issued for the summer months, a U-Pass can be used one week prior to the fall semester. Plus it covers the break between fall and spring semesters. How is U-Pass distributed? Students can visit their school’s U-Pass web page for more information on where they can pick up their U-Pass.
No, it isn’t an opt-in/opt-out program. This allows all students to receive a drastically reduced rate. RTA will continue to conduct student surveys annually to gauge the level of satisfaction with the U-Pass program. Who can I contact for more information on U-Pass?
