Artist: Angelica Pozo Title: Cleveland: Air Laboratory of the World This piece was inspired by Cleveland's proud aviation history as host to the National Air Races from 1929-1949. The wall relief sculptures represent 16 of the more significant planes that participated in these races. The model planes were hand built to scale using accurate model airplane plans from the Cleveland Model & Supply Co. To represent Cleveland's still vital role as an International airport hub, the floor mosaic panels are designed from modern jet airliners.
