The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority’s (GCRTA) Board of Trustees voted unanimously the reappointment of three members to the GCRTA Community Advisory Committee (CAC) during the June 17, 2025, Board Meeting inside GCRTA’s Main Office Building at 1240 W.6th Street, Cleveland, OH. 44113.
The three CAC members whose terms have expired and now have been reappointed to serve for terms of two years are:
• Johnny Brewington, retired Fire Chief for the Village of Woodmere.
• Nichole Laird, Senior Planner with the Cuyahoga County Planning Commission.
• Dr. Joseph Sopko, retired physician who worked at St. Vincent Charity Hospital.
“The reappointment of Mr. Brewington, Ms. Laird, and Dr. Sopko ensures that the Community Advisory Committee continues to benefit from thoughtful, experienced voices who are deeply committed to equitable and accessible transit,” said CAC Board Liaison Deidre McPherson. “Their continued service strengthens the connection between GCRTA and the communities we serve.”
The CAC’s mission is to serve GCRTA’s Board of Trustees, management, staff, users, and general public by communicating our transportation projects and services to the community, and in turn, provide feedback on those projects and services to us from individuals residing in the communities served by GCRTA.
“I am excited about the return of these three CAC members,” said GCRTA General Manager and Chief Executive Officer India L. Birdsong Terry. “The CAC provides an important forum to highlight collaborative engagement through the voice of the customer.”
