State University’s Maxine Goodman Levin
College of Urban Affairs Leadership Academy voted their colleague,
Floun’say Caver, PhD, as the 2009 Outstanding Academy Fellow. He accepted his
award at the May 14 graduation. Dr. Caver, a resident of Euclid, is the Director of
Service Quality Management for the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority
(RTA). These criteria are used to select the Outstanding
Fellow:
“We
are extremely proud that a graduate of our College was selected as the
outstanding fellow,” said Zoe Tyler, Levin College
Leadership Program director. Dr. Caver earned his Masters Degree in Public
Administration from the Cleveland State
University in 1998. He also has a Bachelors Degree in Management for Hiram College, and earned a PhD in Public
Affairs from the University of Texas in
2005. The Leadership Academy, a signature program
coordinated by the Levin College’s Center for Leadership Development, is a
seven-month, nine-module program that focuses on strategic issues and executive
relationships. Since 1993, the Academy has brought together policy makers, elected officials,
senior administrators, and community executives from the region to participate
in this executive development program. Its purpose: to enable leaders to do
their jobs better. A new Leadership Academy cohort – the 20th
year group -- will begin in November at the Levin College. Scholarships are
available to elected officials by nomination and application. For information,
