CLEVELAND – Committees of the Board of Trustees
of the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) will meet at 9 am. on
Tuesday, June 2, at RTA's Main Office, 1240
W. Sixth St.
Finance Committee
Michael
J. Schipper, Deputy General Manager, Engineering and Project Management,
will update Board members on RTA’s progress in spending federal stimulus
funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 for
major capital improvements.
Planning and Development
Michael
J. Schipper, Deputy General Manager, Engineering and Project Management,
and Frank Polivka, Director of Procurement, will update the Board on a
negotiated procurement to provide architectural and engineering services
for rehabilitation of Brookpark Station on the Red Line. The project will
use federal stimulus funds from the ARRA.
Maribeth
Feke, Manager of Programming and Planning, will update the Board on a
negotiated procurement to retain a consultant to perform an alternatives
analysis for the Blue Line Corridor, including a proposed extension of the
Blue Line through the complex intersection of Van Aken and Chagrin
boulevards, and Northfield and Warrensville Center roads, in the Shaker
Heights – Beachwood area. The project will use federal stimulus funds from
the ARRA.
Operations Committee
·The Board will hear an
update on safety initiatives from four staffers – Pamela McCombe, Director of
Safety; Robert Baggs, Director of Employee Training and Development; William
Eltrich, Director of the Triskett (bus) Garage; and Doug Seger, Director of the
Central Bus Maintenance Facility.
Committee of the Whole
Steve Bitto, Marketing Director, will present
the current RTA marketing campaign.
Steven
Sims, Director of the Office of Business Development, will discuss RTA
Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goal for Federal Fiscal Year (FFY)
2010.
