Festival and Tall Ships RTA is your
ticket to the biggest weekend of summer CLEVELAND – Thousands of visitors will be downtown this weekend
for the Ingenuity Festival and
the Tall Ships at the North
Coast Harbor. For convenience, affordability and to help ease traffic congestion,
promoters of both events agree: take RTA. The Greater Cleveland Regional
Transit Authority (RTA) has scheduled extra free trolley service on East Ninth
Street from noon- 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, July 15-16. “Our trolleys are the hit of the city this summer, ” says Joe Calabrese, RTA CEO and General Manager. “The trolleys will operate on a 10-minute frequency from Prospect Avenue to the loop in front of the Great Lakes Science Center, connecting both festivals.” Click here for a map of the trolley route. After leaving the Great Lakes Science Center, the trolley
will stop at these intersections, both northbound and southbound:
“As gas costs hover near the $3 per gallon mark, RTA
remains your most effective transportation alternative,” Calabrese says. “Many
downtown streets will be closed, or have limited access, because of
construction.” The Tall Ships will be at the Cleveland Harborfest at North
Coast Harbor from July 12-16. Opening ceremonies begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday at
Voinovich Park. Tours will be given from 9:30 a.m.-7 p.m. July 13-16. To get
