RTA celebrates new #820 Community Circulator

RTA kicks off service for new #820 St. Clair-Five Points Community Circulator at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 11 CLEVELAND - The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) begins service on its 10th Community Circulator with a special ceremony. The event begins at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 11, at the Cleveland Golden Age Center, 928 E. 152nd St. Ward 10 Councilman Roosevelt Coats, and RTA CEO Joe Calabrese, will speak. The center is just north of St. Clair Ave. The #820 St. Clair-Five Points Community Circulator begins service on Monday, Dec. 11. The route will offer convenient service to many area businesses, community activity centers and numerous residential areas. * Schools - Collinwood and Glenville high schools, Margaret Spellacy Middle School. * Residential - Silver Pointe Apartments, Indian Hills Senior Commun-ity, Belvoir Cliff Apartments. * Community - Glenville YMCA, Collinwood Health Center, two branches of the Cleveland Public Library. * Business - Five Points Plaza, East Side Market, Glenville Plaza, Glenville Town Center, Save-A-Lot, Shaw Savmor. The new route This new route operates between the Dupont Loop and E. 191 St.-Rose-land, using E. 105th St., St. Clair, E. 152nd St., Saranac, E. 162nd St., Midland, E. 163rd St., St. Clair, Wayside, Euclid, Cliffview, Groton, Green and Euclid. Service will be from 6:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, and from 6:30 a.m.- 7 p.m. Saturday. Vehicles will operate every 30 minutes on weekdays and every 40 minutes on Saturday. The fare is 50 cents. Each Circulator vehicle seats up to 18 persons. The new Community Circulator will connect to these nine existing routes. #1 St. Clair #6 Euclid #10 E. 105 #30 E. 140-Hayden #34 E. 200-Green #36 Eddy #37 E. 185-Taylor #40 Lakeview-Lee #326 Detroit-Superior RTA Background The mission of the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) mission is to enhance the quality of life in Greater Cleveland by providing outstanding, cost-effective public transportation services. RTA bus operators drive more than 92,000 route miles every day, and RTA carries more than 45 percent of all public transit riders in Ohio. RTA's bus fleet is the 19th largest in the nation. RTA carries an average of 207,000 riders each weekday.
