Here at RTA, we value our riders! That is why we are teaming up with NOACA’s GOhio Commute to reward YOU for taking the bus or train instead of driving for the entire month of February! The challenge is open to riders in Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain and Medina Counties. After signing up for the Northeast Ohio Loves Transit Challenge, you are eligible to ride twice a day, 7 days a week while tracking your distance, money saved, CO2 savings, and even calories burned. It’s never too late for a New Year’s resolution!
Why choose to participate in the Northeast Ohio Loves Transit Challenge? Transportation not only affects your health, but it affects us as a general public. According to a study done in 2013, air pollution from the transportation sector was responsible for an estimated 384 premature deaths in the Greater Cleveland area. This concludes the region had the second highest mortality rate from mobile emissions. By riding public transportation, you are doing yourself, your community, and the environment a favor.
Becoming an active participant in the Northeast Ohio Loves Transit Challenge, you will be eligible for weekly raffle drawings and our top 3 transit riders will take home the grand prizes! Go to gohiocommute.com/s/neohio-loves-transit to create an account and get started. Here, you can log your transit trips and check the leaderboard for up-to-minute standings. Every Monday, one randomly selected transit rider will win a 5-day transit pass. Get rewarded for saving money and CO2 emissions just by riding to work every day!
