HRV Evacuation Safety 

On December 14-15, the Rail Training Department was at Tower City demonstrating Heavy Rail Vehicle (HRV) evacuation procedures to Red Line passengers. The Rail Department representative, John Romanchik III, showed Red Line riders how to exit the front door of the Red Line train in the event of an emergency. While exiting the front door, the train operator set up a ladder outside the cab door so passengers can climb down and safely get off the vehicle and onto track level. In addition, the Training Department representative also showed passengers how to exit the train out of the side doors in an extreme emergency by pulling down on the red door lever that opens the side doors (shown below).
