The Department of Programming & Planning is responsible for developing the long-term strategic and capital plan vision for RTA’s transit system. It works with public and private partners to help implement this vision and coordinate planning projects.
The Department initiates studies and long‐term projects designed to maintain and improve transit service and ridership, including project viability studies, joint venture identification, and planning for station areas, multi-modal connections, and transit-oriented land use. It is responsible for the oversight of the Authority’s real estate property holdings, NEPA/Title VI, Section 106 and other federal grant compliance, the transit waiting environment program, and the Arts‐in‐Transit program.
