Rajan D. Gautam joined the GCRTA fleet as Deputy General Manager of Finance and Administration in 2018, after almost 30 years of professional practice. His accreditations in finance and accounting help him manage a $300 million annual budget with focus and dedication. Thanks to his foresight and strategy, he led a prepayment program to reduce debt burden and more effectively use funding. Mr. Gautam currently oversees employees across eight departments -- Accounting, Cash and Grants Management, Management Information Services, Office of Business Development, Office of Management and Budget, Procurement, Revenue Collection, and Support Services.

Mr. Gautam received his Bachelor’s from Cleveland State University in 1984 and became a recognized Certified Public Accountant in the State of Ohio. Prior to traveling with GCRTA, Mr. Gautam was the Lead Audit Partner at a Cleveland-area local CPA firm, with a focus on non-profits, employee benefits, professional service firms, and manufacturing. In 2013, he joined the fleet as Director of Accounting, where he focused on department reorganization, interdepartmental communication, and implementing new financial reporting practices.
COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS
Mr. Gautam is heavily involved in building personal connections in the community. He has served as Secretary for the Federation of India Community Associations. He has been an active Member for the Centers for Families and Children and West Side Ecumenical Ministry. He helped jump start the Cleveland Cricket Club and was a former Chair of the Midwest Cricket Tournament. Professionally, Mr. Gautam is an active Member of the American Institution of Certified Public Accountants, and a Board Member for the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. He serves on the Audit Committee for the City of Solon.
