Updated Boosters Among COVID-19 Doses Available During Morelands Fall Fest at Helen Simpson Park

GCRTA in collaboration with the Cleveland Department of Public Health (CDPH) will provide free onsite COVID-19 vaccinations and booster shots during the Morelands Fall Fest on Saturday, September 17, 2022. The GCRTA Community Immunity Bus will be parked inside Helen Simpson Park at 2851 S. Moreland Blvd., Cleveland, Ohio 44120, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

CDPH has provided the following vaccinations and gift card information: The Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines, administered by CDPH medical staff, will be available at no charge to adults and children, ages 5 and up. Individuals ages 12 years and older are eligible for a single dose of the updated COVID-19 booster two months after the initial vaccine series or most recent booster. The updated booster helps restore protection that has waned since previous vaccination by targeting more transmissible and immune-evading variants. To protect against serious illness and outcomes associated with COVID-19, receiving a booster as soon as you are eligible is important, especially for older adults and individuals who are moderately or severely immunocompromised.

First dose recipients can receive a $100 gift card from CDPH onsite. Anyone younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to receive the vaccine. Optional pre-registration is available at gettheshot.coronavirus.ohio.gov or by calling 216-664-2222.

The GCRTA Community Immunity Bus is made possible by ODOT funding in effort to make the COVID-19 vaccine accessible to multiple communities in the greater Cleveland area.
