Bus Operator Hiring Event

Minimum qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 19 years of age
• Minim of three (3) years of driving experience
• Minimum of two (2) years of customer service experience
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Good driving record with no more than two (2) points in the last three years
• Applicants without a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) may receive a conditional offer contingent upon obtaining a temporary CDL permit during training; successful candidates must pass a background investigation, drug screen, and DOT post-offer physical

Essential duties:

• Safely operate buses on scheduled routes and special service routes
• Deliver outstanding customer service
• Provide information about major attractions and destinations
• Maintain knowledge of fares, routes, schedules, and operating hours
• Announce stops using the public address system
• Respond appropriately during service interruptions and emergencies
• Represent GCRTA with professionalism

Compensation:

• Training wage of $17/hour without a CDL, $20/hour with Class A or B CDL, Passenger Endorsement, and Air Brake Endorsement
• Starting wage of $28.38/hour after successful completion of training, progressing to $37.84/hour in accordance with the current collective bargaining agreement
