CLEVELAND -- For the 26th consecutive year, the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authoriity (RTA) has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). The award recognizes RTA’s 2013 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).

According to the GFOA, this is the highest form of recognition in government reporting, and its attainment represents "a significant accomplishment by an agency and its management."

“We are judged by an impartial panel and are recognized for meeting the high standards of the program, including demonstrating a constructive spirit of full disclosure,” said RTA CEO and General Manager Joe Calabrese.

RTA was recognized for clearly communicating its financial story and motivating potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.

The GFOA is a non-profit professional association serving 17,500 government finance professionals throughout the United States.
