The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCTRA) in collaboration with Graffiti HeArt have arranged for French graffiti artist Blek Le Rat to stencil one of his most famous pieces “The Man Who Walks Through Walls” on a pier of the Cuyahoga River Viaduct Bridge near Merwin’s Wharf restaurant.

"Graffiti HeArt has enjoyed partnering with the RTA, providing opportunities to include RTA canvases in our placemaking strategy in and around Cleveland,” said Graffiti HeArt President & Founder, Stamy Paul.  “In addition to last year's WRDSMTH mural tour, we are excited to include RTA in this year's Blek le Rat project, installing one of his original pieces at Merwin's Wharf Park on the RTA bridge pier facing the river, off Columbus Road.  Blek Le Rat is a pioneer in the street art culture and bringing his art to Cleveland is a real treat.  We look forward to Blek's "the man who walks through walls" piece to be enjoyed by the Cleveland community, travelers, and visitors alike!” added Stamy.  For more information, follow www.graffitiheart.org and https://tinyurl.com/blek-taki2022 "

The Man Who Walks Through Walls” is a self-portrait of the artist himself. Taking the body of Buster Keaton, one of his favorite actors, Blek Le Rat has stenciled this image of a traveling man carrying suitcases in cities all over the world, indicating his lifestyle and mission to spread his art widely.

“This is an awesome example of community collaboration in motion, as GCRTA and Graffiti HeArt both serve the community spirit in different ways,” said GCRTA General Manager, Chief Executive Officer India Birdsong. “Using our collective talents and resources, we can provide artists the opportunity to display their special skills on unique and challenging canvasses throughout the Greater Cleveland area. I’m excited to have French artist Blek Le Rat, a true pioneer of street art creates one of his famous works on an RTA bridge pier,” added Birdsong.
