Federal Mask Mandate on Public Transportation Extended to Jan. 18, 2022

Aug 24, 2021

CLEVELAND, OH -- On August 20, 2021, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) extended the mask requirement for anyone riding on any mode of public transportation through January 18, 2022.

Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) riders must wear face masks while riding any bus or train, while waiting inside bus shelters and when entering any RTA transit center, train station, or the RTA Main Office Building.

Masks are not required when waiting outside, in an open air area at transit centers or train stations.

By way of reminder, RTA is partnering with the City of Cleveland in an effort to provide easy access to the COVID-19 vaccine. More information is here.
