Cleveland, OH - RTA in collaboration with the Cleveland Department of Public Health (CDPH), and Asian Services in Action (ASIA), are providing free Covid-19 vaccinations and Booster shots to the general public during the Lunar New Year Celebration on Saturday, February 5, 2022.

The RTA Community Immunity Bus will be parked on E. 30th St. near the Asia Plaza, 2999 Payne Avenue, Cleveland, OH. 44114, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Medical staff from ASIA’s International Community Health Center will be on the bus providing the Pfizer vaccine at no charge.

“Asian Services in Action (ASIA) is so excited to partner with Greater Cleveland RTA (GCRTA) and the Cleveland Department of Public Health (CDPH) to bring COVID vaccinations and boosters directly to the community,” said Elaine Tso, CEO of ASIA.  “Everyone who comes to Asia Plaza to celebrate Lunar New Year can get on the Community Immunity bus to receive a vaccine and protect themselves from COVID. By bringing the vaccine to the community, we strive to remove any barriers that prevent community members from access that is essential to promote health equity,” stated Tso.

“The value of this partnership is health and human service and public transit bringing innovation and technology to you in collaboration of Connecting the Community,” said GCRTA General Manager, Chief Executive Officer India Birdsong. “I’m excited to be connecting with ASIA on bringing this very important service to the local community during the Lunar New Year Celebration,” said Birdsong.

The RTA Community Immunity Bus is made possible by ODOT funding in effort to make the Covid-19 vaccine accessible to multiple communities in the greater Cleveland area.
