Take GCRTA To Exciting Cleveland Guardians Postseason Play

Oct 2, 2026

The Cleveland Guardians play the Chicago White Sox Saturday, October 3, and Monday, October 5, 2026, in the American League Divisional Series (ALDS) and the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) offers affordable, accessible, and direct transportation to Progressive Field.

For $5, allow us to do the driving for you. The Guardians playoff games are expected to draw thousands of people downtown, so please plan ahead, leave early, and allow yourself plenty of time to arrive safely.

By riding GCRTA you’ll avoid downtown traffic, parking fees, and long walks to Progressive Field.

Some helpful tips to remember:

•    Ride the Rapid to the Tower City Station and take the Walkway to Rocket Arena. From there, it’s a short walk outside to         Progressive Field. The Walkway  will open four hours prior to the start of the game.
•    Trains will leave frequently throughout the day. Check rideRTA.com and Transit App for scheduled departure and arrival times.   Parking is free at all stations.
•    $5 All-day passes are available by contactless payment, Google Pay, or Apple at the Tower City station (Red, Blue and Green Lines).
•    You can purchase a one-way fare ($2.50) or an All-Day pass ($5.00) at a Ticket Vending Machine or on the GCRTA EZfare mobile ticketing app.
•    You can also ride the HealthLine or any downtown-bound bus to the Public Square area and then make your way to the Walkway or Progressive Field from there.

NOTE: Due to a Green Line shutdown from October 3-6, 2026, all Blue Line and Green Line trains will operate between Warrensville-Van Aken and Tower City stations creating a 15-minute service frequency at all stations along Van Aken Blvd. Meanwhile, #68R buses will operate at a 30-minute service frequency between Green Road and Shaker Square stations. Riders who normally park at Green Road Station may want to consider parking near any of the stations along Van Aken Boulevard to take advantage of the 15-minute service to and from downtown.
