 Code of Conduct

Failure to comply with the Code of Conduct may result in a person being removed and/or suspended from GCRTA’s facilities and services as well as criminal prosecution, where applicable.

PLEASE ADHERE TO THE FOLLOWING RULES WHILE YOU ARE ON GCRTA PROPERTY:

  • You must pay the required fare for all trips.
  • No loitering in GCRTA facilities or vehicles.
  • No non-destination riding - you must have a legitimate transportation destination and exit at the end of the line.
  • No camping in a GCRTA facility or vehicle.
  • No damaging or tampering with any GCRTA property.
  • Do not block the doorways or aisles with large objects.
  • Do not distract, obstruct, or otherwise interfere with an operator’s safe operation of a vehicle.
  • You must use earphones or headphones with audio devices.
  • No smoking is allowed in GCRTA facilities or vehicles.
  • No eating or drinking is allowed in GCRTA facilities or vehicles.
  • No fighting, threatening harm, and/or engaging in violent behavior.
  • No lying down or occupying more than one seat.
  • You must provide accurate personal identification if asked by Transit Police.
  • No drinking alcoholic beverages or possessing open containers.
  • No using or possessing a controlled substance.
  • No indecent exposure.
  • Do not light any incendiary device such as a match, lighter, or torch.
  • No spitting upon a person or any GCRTA property.
  • No throwing any solid object or liquid substance at, within, or from a GCRTA vehicle.
  • No disorderly or inappropriate conduct that is inconsistent with the intended purpose or safe use of a transit vehicle or facility.

Misconduct on a public transit system is a crime (Ohio Revised Code 2909.04, 2911.21, 2917.11, and 2917.41). Transit Police will enforce all rules to ensure a safe and comfortable ride for all passengers.
