July 17: RTA Transit Track series brings jazz standards to your commute

Jul 2, 2014

CLEVELAND -- The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) brings another talented musical group to Tower City Rapid Station for the continuation of RTA’s ‘Transit Tracks’ series. The Laura Varcho Trio performs at the station July 17, from 3:30-6:30 p.m.

While RTA riders appreciate the radio station music played at RTA Rapid Stations, nothing compares to LIVE music, with LIVE musicians and this July 17 will deliver just that.

Riding the Red, Blue or Green Line into Tower City Rapid Station in mid-afternoon will give you the opportunity to enjoy Varcho's jazz vocals. Her repertoire consists of jazz standards -- those loved and most recognizable tunes, along with blues and pop tunes. She is a featured artist at the famous Nighttown, along with other top jazz clubs in Northeast Ohio. She has also performed in the nationally recognized, Women in Jazz series at the Tri-C Jazz Fest here.

This event is FREE. The Transit Track program allows RTA to have local musicians entertain customers throughout the entire year.  Listen to great music from 3:30-6:30 p.m. once a month at either Tower City, the Louis Stokes Station at Windermere or Shaker Square.
