 Rail Riders - Buses Replace Rail Service between Tower City and Airport

Due to ongoing bridge and platform replacement work at the W. 117th–Madison Station, 66R buses will replace Red Line rail service between Tower City and Airport stations on Saturday, September 14 and Sunday, September 15, 2024.

Service Details:

66R Bus Operations:

  • Runs every 30 minutes between Tower City and the Airport.
  • Does not stop at W. 65th and W. 25th Rail Stations.
  • Alternative stops are available at W. 65th–Detroit and W. 25th–Detroit.
  • Passengers near Lorain Avenue stations are advised to use the #22 Lorain route or other nearby services.

Airport Bus Stop:

  • Located in the Ground Transportation Center, between the Terminal and the Smart Parking Garage. First bus departs at 3:14am, arriving Prospect & W 3 at 4:10am. Last bus departs 1:14am, arriving Prospect & W 3 at 2:10am.

Tower City Bus Stop:

  • Located on W. Prospect at W. 3rd St. First bus departs 2:52am, arriving at the Ground Transportation Center 3:48am. Last bus departs 12:52am, arriving at the Ground Transportation Center 1:48am.
     
  • Look for the special orange 66R bus stop signs.

Red Line Rail Service Between Tower City and Windermere:

  • Will operate according to the regular Saturday/Sunday schedule.

Full Red Line rail service will resume on Monday, September 16, 2024.
